Andrea Trimarchi (1983) and Simone Farresin (1980) are the two italian young designers who founded Formafantasma, based in Eindhoven, Netherlands. The work of Studio Formafantasma focuses on objects as cultural vectors, merging folk craft design with a critical approach to sustainability.

They say: "the studio is interested in creating a design practice that merges craft and industry, local necessity within the global context and on a conceptual level, to stimulate a more critical and conscious relationship of the user with objects". All Formafantasma objects are completely hand made.

Botanica is the latest project by Studio Formafantasma. This project was commissioned by Plart, an Italian Foundation dedicated to scientific research and technological innovation in the recovery, restoration and conservation of works of art and design produced in plastic.
